Red Forrest Australian Shepherds is a small hobby show/breeding kennel that started in 1994 when I purchased 2 dogs, Hall of Fame ASCA Champion “Amber” Sundowns Burning Red Forrest from Richard Pittman of Sundown Aussies and “Topper” Aladdin’s TopThis at Red Forrest from Diana Farthing of Aladdin Aussies. These 2 excellent breeders trusted me to continue their lines and what a ride it has been!
I live in Poway, a suburb of San Diego, California. I’ve been lucky enough to judge at National Specialties, Germany, Belgium and all over the United States.
Over the last 29 years I’ve bred and finished over 20 Champions between AKC and ASCA with titled dogs in Agility, Obedience, Rally, Lure Coursing and Herding.
I believe in being passionate about canine health and contributing financially to research on issues that affect many breeds. As a breeder, aren’t I an ambassador of the health of the Australian Shepherd?
Each year I make a donation to our local Aussie Rescue and C.A. Sharp (Australian Shepherd Health & Genetics Institute) for various genetic issues regarding our breed. When I have a litter of puppies, I’m looking for families that have done their research on the breed and ask me lots of questions.
Don’t get an Aussie just because they are beautiful!!!! Do you really understand how much training they need? The smarter the breed, the more obedience you need. No kidding!! Make sure you are financially able and ready to enroll them in at least a puppy socialization class and obedience class.
Only 3 dogs live at my home (Will, Kindle and Yogi). We do not have a large kennel and each one of my dogs are family members that live in our house year round.
My goals are to breed high quality, well rounded Australian Shepherds that fit the breed standard. I take into consideration health, structure, energy level and size when I breed.
Every puppy I breed is and will be carefully placed in a loving and responsible home where they can strive to be your best buddy, show dog, or agility fanatic! The sky is limit on what they can learn!!
