Frequently asked questions.

Are your Australian Shepherds AKC & ASCA registered?

Yes, all of my puppies come with AKC & ASCA registration papers. Generally I mark most puppies as “limited” as I don’t sell many pups to breeding homes. “Limited” does not mean you can’t compete in agility, obedience or altered conformation, it only means I don’t want them in a breeding home. Our puppies are raised with the principles of puppy culture and are litter box trained. They also get bathed and blow dried every week to get them accustomed to grooming.

How big do your full-size (standard) aussies get?

Generally speaking, an aussie is between 35-65 pounds. Girls always being smaller than boys. Boys will carry a larger coat, especially in the chest area.

How big do your mini Aussies get?

Generally speaking, a miniature american shepherd is between 20-40 pounds. Girls always being smaller than boys. Boys will carry a larger coat, especially in the chest area.

Where are you located?

I’m located in Southern California. I don’t ship puppies out of San Diego International Airport anymore, but you are welcome to come to San Diego and fly out with your puppy as carry-on.

Do I need to make a deposit to get a puppy?

I accept deposits only after I have a confirmed pregnancy. Deposits are generally non-refundable, because I will actively turn away people if I have a deposit on a certain puppy. I will NOT take a deposit unless I know you are getting a puppy.

Do you have a waiting list for future puppies?

I always have a waitlist for my puppies, by the time they are born, several are already sold. Email me to get on my waitlist, it generally takes 4-8 months.

Do you offer payment plans?

Between the time they are born and when they go home at 8 weeks, you are welcome to make payments. I will make record of it on a spreadsheet, but the puppy must be paid in full when they leave.

What form of payment do you accept?

I only accept cash, check, Venmo or Zelle. I do not accept PayPal as I have had too many issues with them charging a fee.

How do I get on the reservation list?

Please email me or give me a call. I’m currently not responding to the Gooddog.com website applications as I have been overwhelmed with the applications.

When is my puppy ready to come home?

Your puppy must be between 8-9 weeks of age, I will not allow them to go home any sooner. If a breeder allows sooner, the puppy is missing out on important lessons in bite inhibition and sibling play.

How do I pick up my puppy?

I will offer you a puppy when it is your turn on my spreadsheet. Breeders always have the right to keep any puppy or hold back a puppy for a particular home. For instance, I’m not going to sell a high drive, active puppy to a couple that is older and wants less energy. I try and match the right puppy with the right owner.

Do your puppies have any health guarantees?

My puppies come with a health guarantee. The puppies are vet checked, de-wormed, vaccinated and will have their eyes checked by a certified canine ophthalmologist. You will be provided a contract to sign via DocuSign. Feel free to ask for it beforehand to give yourself plenty of time to review and ask any questions.

Your puppy comes with a puppy starter kit, what is that?

Starter kits are SO fun for me!!! In the bag you take home, you will get plenty of the current dog food they are eating, toys, poo bags, chewie’s and copies of all heath clearances on both parents plus their pedigrees.

Can I breed my puppy when they are older?

This would have to be discussed and agreed upon beforehand. Not every puppy should be bred, even though you think your dog is the best dog in the world. I have to review the genetics, temperament and structure.

Do you dock the tails or are they naturally bobbed?

I dock all tails unless they are natural bobs.

Breeder Mantra

Behind every well-bred dog there is….

·        A breeder who lost sleep, missed countless hours of her regular job, and sacrificed so much to raise their puppies the right way because they love their dogs.

·        A loving family that the breeder carefully chose and trusted with their puppy

·        A pedigree that is the result of tireless efforts from devoted and hard working breeders

·        A puppy is a breeder’s legacy, heart and hard work.
